Onychophagia, the practice of biting your nails. Good luck y'all on quitting! -Fellow Biter |
"I have lots of success stories and a number who had only temporary success. It starts with fear and becomes a reaction every time a fear of any kind is experienced. Many have to play the message several times or at least when they start biting again. I will visit your page soon. I am pressed for time at the moment. |

Hi Rose I am not sure if you will want to include this email as
One thing struck me very hard about your site and that was that there are no suggestions for anyone about how they can stop he painful and unsightly habit of nailbiting. Well I am not saying I have all the answers or can help everyone who bites their nails, BUT I have helped several people break the habit and they are non- biters months after coming to see me. What do I do you might be asking??? Well I am a hynotherapist and if I do say so myself the results I have achieved have been pretty impressive so I know it can work. If anyone wants any more information they are free to email me direct or if it's okay with you, they can contact me via your web site. I live in Essex, England. Hope someone, somewhere finds this useful. dated 4/26/2004.... There are many UK based comments that have been added to these boards. I can understand if you have missed them. They have been posted by both those that bite their nails and by hypnotherapists themselves. Also included amongst these pages are tips and advice that other nailbiters and nail-professionals have given. Please remember that I edit these pages - all of them - so I know of what I speak. I'm sorry if you missed the comments that offer suggestions and those that are from the UK because they are there. Of course no one has all the answers. That is one of the reasons why I started these pages. What struck me as the most oddest thing was that there were people that emailed me and told me that they thought that they were the only ones that bite their nails! I could hardly believe that. So that's why I started the pages to have a central informational place where people that bite their nails can go to - if for anything - to see that they are not alone. Since starting these pages I have gotten a lot of information about hypnotherapy and hypnotherapists and have corresponded with a few of them as well. Some of their comments have been posted as well. The only part of your message that would be considered advertising/commercial is for me to put a link to your site. This would not be fair to those that have paid for their advertising/commercial link. And as for the email links - it has been requested by those that have posted to not include their email addresses simply because they have gotten so much spam and a lot of not so nice email. I have decided to honor their request - and an added addition is that they feel a lot more comfortable being anonymous. I guess they feel that if they can find someone to help them with their nailbiting then that professional is more than likely to be listed here - as opposed to them doing a search theirselves. I thank you for your email |
Hi Rose, I thank you for inviting us to your web-page. As a Nail Technician for more than 27 Hope to hear from you soon? ~ M. S. Creator and founder of ..... Thank you for your email. I will try to answer as many of the questions that you have asked. First off these pages started when I added one line to my web page about how I bit my nails. Then I started getting email from others that told me that they did the same thing. What most surprised me was that some of the comments included the comment "I thought that I was the only one" which kind of surprised me because even though it is a terrible and potentially unhealthy habit I never really thought that people would consider themselves ostracized for having such a habit! The pages that have grown from being just one to then becoming a website with more than 10 pages and now I have tried to condense these pages within this blog. The "traffic"/"hits" that the pages create continues to astound me. Include that with the statistical data that I receive as far as which pages are being viewed and how many of the pages are being viewed shows me that the topic is quite popular AND it has stretched far beyond stories from co-biters to include medical information that is related and that has been included as well. (Including a small debate about the official term for nailbiting. The statistical information also includes the fact that there is not just a U. S. interest but interest and comments coming from all How can your web-page help create traffic to our web-site? Well, lets see....It was a webpage but now it is part of a blog about people who bite their nails. Going thru the individual comments that have been posted I can safely say that at least the majority of comments ask for help of some kind. In your above email you state that you have a product that helps - Now I ask you the question - If I were a person that posts looking for help and see mention of your product how inclined would I be to at least "check" your product out? There are HTML codes available to check linkage from another page/referred link (which is what I have on my pages). You also have to take into consideration that more people VIEW the pages than actually post. Are these viewers also Advertising: - I have only recently begun to accept advertising because quite frankly I never thought about it UNTIL it became apparent that maintaining the pages would require time, effort and funds. Links: When I first started these pages links were included including links to the email addresses of the people that posted and wanted their links included. But you know what? A funny thing happened with this inclusion of links to email addresses and that was that the people whose email links were included were getting "not so nice" email and spam! I was asked by them to remove the links to their email addresses BUT they still wanted their comments to appear and that is why there are no more email links included! Links to commercial sites are advertising! - Plain and simple. No different from advertising in printed and broadcasted media. Again basic and foremost these pages were created by me as a place for fellow NailBiter's like myself to show that they are not alone (still a disturbing fact that people would think this) where they can read about others who feel the same as they do and serve as a central ground for any and all related nailbiting information |
Rose I would love to donate. Is there any chance you can get the paypal account up and running. Maybe since some of us would really like to see pics of woman with short nails you could offer those pics to those who donate or pay a small membership fee. I am constantly searching the internet for pics of girls with short nails and as you can imagine it is not easy lol. Thanks, John Thank you for your email. Updated 8/19/05 - A "donation" button has been recently added. |
added 9/12/05 I am a bi guy who loves the look of bitten nails (not too much) on guys ang girls. especially erotic poses. Have you any contacts? A very interesting question. As you can see I have been making some progress as far as donations go and have started to add pictures. I'm sure that you could probably find people to send you pictures however email address links are not added to the pages because it has been requested because people were getting too much spam and/or junk mail. |
Do you have other nail biting pictures There were pictures included on the original pages but I have not added them to this blog yet. Also those that are members of The Nailbiter's Anonymous Club who can send pictures of their nails as well. |
Hello Rose ~ I tried to link to The Nailbiters Anon(ymous Club) and got shot into Yahoo's general website. I would like to join. Compared to the photos on your site, my nails make those photos look normal. Thank you. ~ J~ Thank you for your email. However since I have just recently transferred these pages to my blog I haven't set up an official Nailbiters Anonymous Site yet. |
